To say that Key West was beautiful, is an understatement. I needed a few days away from reality but did not have a lot of time. Key West was easy to access and was stunningly beautiful. This was my first trip to the Keys and I will definitely be making a trip back.
Upon arrival, I called to have my hotel shuttle pick me up from the airport (you never know if UBER is in your area). After about 10 minutes, I was on my way. The shuttle came just for me and we did not have to make stops before arriving at my destination….BONUS!!! The hotel was amazing, the view was spectacular and there were water activities right outside. Sitting out by the pool, I felt like I was at a resort far away. This was paradise not far from home.
I LOVE animals. As I sat by the pool, a wild iguana came out from hiding and stunned me with it’s beauty. This is definitely not the type of animal I am used to seeing but it was amazing non the less.
One of the days was spent with Fury Adventures on their Island Adventure Tour. This excursion was nothing short of SPECTACULAR. The morning started out with mimosas while boating to our first destination and this view. Although the water was too cold for me to get in to snorkel, I could see the beautiful coral from the boat. After snorkeling, we made our way to a small private island where the locals go. This place was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. While here, we swam, kayaked, paddle boarded, ate lunch and a few participated in drinking games.
This excursion came highly recommended on Trip Advisor and I am so glad I was able to experience this.
The hotel shuttle was able to take us into town as well as pick us up when we were ready to head back. Although the town does offer taxi service, it was nice to have a free shuttle at our fingertips.
After a long few days, it was nice to walk down to the hotel restaurant/bar and eat dinner. There was no need to catch a ride down the road when an amazing dining experience was in walking distance.
At the end of this trip, I was sad to be heading home and leave my company but felt refreshed to take on a few more weeks….until my next adventure! 🙂
