DIFFERIN Gel – Acne Treatment

differin gel

Why I love It – Every so often, I wake up in the morning to a nice spot on my face. We have all been there. I have tried a few products but everything either burns or dries my face out. This has been the first product to have great results without side effects. Differin Gel contains adapalene, a type of retinoid or the first over-the-counter active ingredient for acne in more than 30 years.

How To Use It – After cleansing your face, apply a small, thin layer over the needed areas of the face. This can be used with your fingers or cue tip.

YES TO TOMATOES Acne Fighting Paper Mask

Why I love It – Say yes to not connecting the dots on your face. With the tomato extracts and salicylic acids, your skin stays clear while smoothing, hydrating and nourishing the skin.

How To Use It – Open the packet, place the mask across your face, wait 10 minutes and allow the product to go to work. After 10 minutes, pull the mask off and toss in the trash can.

THE ORDINARY “Buffet” Multi-Technology Peptide Serum

Why I Love It– This serum has been my absolute favorite to target signs of aging and help with firming. Like I mentioned in last months post, its time for anti-aging products before even you know it! Buffet is a multi-technology peptide serum, meaning the ingredients are working in a formula targeting multiple signs at once. Peptides? You may ask, what are those? Also – “Buffet”? I was pronouncing it like Jimmy Buffet, but no – you wont be able to sing after using this serum. It’s pronounced like my favorite type of restaurant.

I digress. . .

Human skin is comprised mostly of collagen. Collagen is a protein comprised of a long chain of amino acids. In a very basic sense – this provides the foundation and thickness for skin. Women and Men under 30 typically have more collagen, resulting in smooth tight skin. As we get older, the skin tends to thin, naturally revealing more wrinkles.

When collagen breaks down, short segments of amino acids are formed. These are the tiny proteins and active molecules known as peptides. Applying more peptides in skin care act like a “message” telling your skin in the area you’re applying them topically that the skin has lost collagen and it needs to produce more.

How To Use It – Apply to the entire face in the AM and PM after cleaning.

In general, water formulations should be applied before oil formulations and it’s recommend to use a maximum of three serum formulations in a single regimen. Buffet is a water serum, so use before oils/creams.

Where To Buy It – Guys, the BEST part about The Ordinary from Deciem? Besides their products being hella pure, vegan, cruelty free, and trustworthy? The price is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Buffet is $14. And the majority of the other serums I use religiously barely cap ten dollars. Legit, their Hyaluronic Acid is $6.80. I would start by buying straight from their website, unless you live in NYC or one of their other lucky cities to have a new store. Sephora has recently started to carry their line as well!

“Note: The name of this formula was inspired by some brands referring to their expensive products offering combinations of these technologies as a “buffet”, distastefully comparing such products to buffets that offer various kinds of food in one sitting.” – The
